Quiet Tone On ’Change

STEADY TRADING IN BANKS

A QUIET tone was registered on ’Change this morning, Business was confined chiefly to banks.

Nationals of New Zealands in the banking section eased slightly with sellers at £7 6s supported by buyers at £7 4s. N.S.W.s were firm, sales being recorded at £49 12s 6d. Unions of Australia were easier, with sellers at £ls supported by buyers at £l4 18s 6d. New Zealands were steady at yesterday’s level. In timbers, sellers of Kauris dropped to £ 1 with buyers still off the market. N.Z. Breweries register a slightly easier tone, sellers at 41s 6d finding buyers at 39s 9d. Taranaki Oils are steadier with sellers asking 11s 9d to a buyer’s quote

of 10s 6d. Wilsons Cements improved slightly to see business at 35s 9d. Business yesterday afternoon. —On ’Change: Goldsbrougli Mort, 51s; Waihi Mining, Us 9d. Reported; Sanford. Ltd. (ord ), 20s 6d; Auckland Harbour Board, 5£ per cent., £96 10s; N.Z. Breweries (deb.), 22s 9d. Business at this morning’s early call. On ’Change: Bank of New Zealand, 59s 3d (two parcels).
