To-day’s Recipes AMERICAN BAKED BANANAS /HGEEDIENTS: Three table spoonfuls of butter, seven tablespoon fills of sugar, four (ablespoonfuls of lemon juice, half a teaspoonful of salt. Put these ingredients into a bowl, and set it i/i pan of warm water, stirring till butter is melted. Then pour over ms dozen whole bananas which hare been placed in one layer in a buttered glass baking dish. Bake thirty minutes, basting often with the liquid. Serve as an entree, or os a vegetable. This is a most de licious dish, but it may be made more attractive by the addition or walnut and raisin sauce: Bring to boiling-point one anil a-half cup fuls of water, juice of one lemon, and half a cupful of sugar. Moisten one tablespoonful of corn flour with two tablcspoonfuls of cold water, and stir into boiling liquid, with a quarter of a cupful of chopped raisins and two tablesjfaonfuls of chopped walnuts. Cook till tender.
