COASTAL MOVEMENTS— The Gunbar, which arrived at Auckland yesterday afternoon from the East Coast, berthed at the King’s Wharf. She leaves here to-morrow at noon on her return trip to East Coast bays, Gisborne and Napier. The Wingatui, from Southern ports, leaves Welington this afternoon for Auckland, where she is due on Wednesday. After discharge here, the Wingatui loads at Auckland, and sails next Friday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Timaru. The Kurow, from Port Craig, left Bluff on Saturday afternoon, via Dunedin, Wellington, Pieton and Napier, for Auckland. The Kaikorai is at present loading at Westport for New Plymouth, Wellington and Auckland, and should arrive here early next week The Waimea, which arrived at Auckland yesterday, sails at 4 p.m. to-morrow on her return trip to Gisborne and Napier. The Cumberland, which arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from Wellington, leaves on Wednesday for Port Chalmers to discharge the remainder of her Liverpool cargo. The West Carmona sailed from Duneedin on Saturday for Apia, thence the Pacific Coast, to load again for New Zealand. The Hauiti, which was to sail at noon to-day for Kerepeehi, is due back again at 2 o’clock on Tuesday morning. The Apanui sailed early this afternoon for Mercury Bay, Tairua and Whangamata. She is expected to arrive back again at 3 o’clock on Wednesday afternoon. The Clansman resumes running this evening after being laid up for annual overhaul and survey. She sails at 5 p.m. for Russell, Opua, Whangaroa and Mangonui. The Ngapuhi replaces the Matangi in the Auckland-Tauranga run this evening, while the latter vessel undergoes annual overhaul and survey. The Ngapuhi sails at 6.30 p.m., being due back again at half past seven on Wednesday morning. The Rangitoto was to sail at 1 o’clock this afternoon for Thames. She is due back again at half past eleven to-morrow-morning. The Daphne sailed at 1 o’clock this afternoon for Coromandel and Colville. She is due back again at 1 o’clock tomorrow afternoon. The Tuhoe sails at 4 p.m. to-day for Whananaki, Tutukaka, Whangaruru and Kerepeehi. The Kawau sailed this morning for Kawau, Leigh and Mangawai. She is due back again at 4 p.m. to-morrow. The Omana sails at 2 o’clock this afternoon for Brown's Bay, Arkle’s Bay, Manly, Deep Creek and Silverdale, and returns again at half past ten this evening. The Taniwha is expected to arrive at 3 o’clock to-morrow morning from Paeroa. She sails again at 11.30 p.m. the same day on the return trip. The Claymore is expected at Auckland at 3.30 a.m. to-morrow from Whangarei. At 9 o'clock the same evening she is to be dispatched for the same port. The Otimai is scheduled to sail at noon to-morrow for Kutarere and Opotiki. The Toa leaves at noon to-morrow for Whakatane. The Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ steamer, Tiroa, arrived at Auckland last evening from the East Coast and berthed at King’s Wharf. She is loading to-day, and at noon to-morrow sails for Hicks Bay and Gisborne. The Awahou arrived at Auckland yesterday from the East Coast. The vessel is scheduled to sail again at 5 o’clock tomorrow evening for Tokomaru Bay, Hicks Bay and' Gisborne. The Coronation sailed yesterday morning for Awanui. She is due back again toward the tTid of the week, and will sail at noon on Saturday for the same The Elsie Mary sails this evening for Gisborne.

MAKO COMPLETING OVERHAUL. — The Richardson steamer, Mako, is completing her annual overhaul and survey at Western Wharf. She is expected to complete by the end of the week, when she will sail on Saturday for East Coast bays, Napier and Wairoa. SCHELDEPAS SAILING. —The Belgium steamer Scheldepas was undocked this morning and leaves Auckland eai-ly this afternoon for Wellington, where she completes her discharge of basic slag from Antwerp. VALACIA AT COLON.—Cabled advice from Colon states that the Commonwealth and Dominion Line's chartered steamer Valacia, en route from Liverpool to Auckland, arrived there on Monday last. She is due at Auckland on July 12, and will complete discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. WAITEMATA LEAVES FRISCO.— Cabled news has been received by the Union Company that the Waitemata, with Pacific Coast cargo, cleared San Francisco at 7 p.m. on Wednesday for Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. She is due at Wellington on July 9. PORT BOWEN AT NEW YORK.—The Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Bowen is reported to have reached New York from England last Friday. After loading at New York the vessel is scheduled to sail next Saturday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and DLined in. She is due at Auckland about July 28. CARGO FROM LIVERPOOL. No wireless advice has been received from the Federal Line steamer Northumberland, which is expected from Liverpool at an early date. Her cargo from W r est Coast ports of Great Britain will be unloaded at Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, Bluff and New Plymouth. The New Zealand Shipping Comr pany are the local agents. NORFOLK’S LOADING PORTS. The New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Federal steamer Norfolk arrived at Port Chalmers at 1.30 p.m. on Friday from Lyttelton, to complete discharge of her Liverpool’ cargo, and to commence loading. The vessel will leave the Otago port on Wednesday to load at Timaru, Lyttelton and W r ellington. She is due at Wellington on June 27, and is to leave there on June 2S for Napier, Waikokopu, Gisborne, and Auckland. The Norfolk is due at Auckland on July 11. and will sail finally from here on July 13 for London. Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool, via Panama.
GABRIELLA REPORTED. Advice lias been received that the Gabriella is due at Wanganui on Wednesday from Newcastle. After discharge she will leave for Sydney, via Greymouth. MAUNGANUI AT WELLINGTON. — The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the R.M.S. Maunganui arrived at Wellington this morning from Sydney and leaves at three o'clock to-morrow afternoon for Rarotonga, Papeete and San Francisco. MAUI POMARE SAILS SATURDAY.— Spedding Limited advises that the new Government motor-ship Maui Pomare will leave Auckland at 10 o'clock on Saturday morning next, June 23. for Xiue Island and Apia, Samoa. The vessel will receive cargo all day on Friday for these islands. RARANGA COMPLETING. —To complete her loading under the auspices of L. E>. Nathan and Company, the Shaw. Savill and Albion steamer Raranga arrived at Auckland last evening and berthed this morning at the Queen s Wharf. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel on Thursday morning for Xew York, Boston and London, via Panama. MINER 1C REPORTS. —According to a radio message received by Spedding Limited the Weir Line steamer Mineric is expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at 3 a.m. to-morrow from Java. The vessel, which is bringing a cargo of sugar for discharge at Chelsea, is to go alongside the works as soon as pratique has been granted. MAKURA LEAVES ’FRISCO.—The. local office of the Union Company has been advised that the R.M.S. Makura left San Francisco at 2 p.m. last Wednesday for Sydney, via Papeete, Rarotonga and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on July 2 and at Sydney on July 7. THE CANADIAN CHALLENGER.— Having completed the discharge of the local portion of her cargo, the Canadian Xational Steamships steamer, Canadian Challenger, .sailed from Auckland yesterday morning for Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin to complete putting out the remainder and also to commence loading for the return trip to Montreal, via Xew York and Boston. PORT CURTIS LOADING. —The C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Curtis now leaves Wellington to-day for Wanganui, thence Xew Plymouth, Opua, Auckland and Napier to complete her loading. She is due here on June 25, and should clear Xapier finally on July 1 for Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool, via Las Palmas. Heather, Roberton and Company will act as the loading agents at Opua and Auckland. WAI PA H I ARRIVES THURSDAY.—A radio message received by the local office of the Union Company states that the Island fruit steamer Waipahi, which left Rarotonga at noon last Wednesday for Auckland, is expected to arrive at Auckland on Thursday afternoon. On June 27 the Waipahi leaves here on her return trip to the Cook Islands. TRANS-ATLANTIC COMPETITION.— It is understood that Mr. A. C. F. Henderson, deputy chairman and managing director of the Anchor Line and one of the directors of the Cunard Line, lias stated that if the American plan for the construction of four-day transatlantic liners becomes a reality, the Cunard Line will be ready to proceed with the building of a 1,000-foot liner of the same speed. According to the statement credited to Mr. Henderson, plans for such a steamer have already been prepared. ULIMAROA TO RESUME.—The local office of the Huddart-Parker Company has received cable advice that the intercolonial passenger steamer Ulimaroa, which has been held up at Sydney since March 3 through industrial troubles, will resume her running this week. She leaves Sydney at noon on Friday for Wellington and is due there the following Tuesday. On June 29 she leaves Wellington for Sydney and on July 6 leaves Sydney for Auckland, thus picking up her usual time-table. WILLASTON FROM NEW YORK.—An arrival in the stream at Auckland at halfpast three this morning was the Wirral Transport Company’s steamer Willaston, chartered to the American and Australian line. The vessel brought a cargo of 9,000 tons of case oil and general merchandise;, 2,000 tons of which is from Manchester, and the remainder from the United States. The vessel sailed from Xew York on Mav 9, and called at Xorfolk en route to Panama for bunkers. She reached Colon on the morning of May 13, and the same afternoon cleared Balboa. Fair weather prevailed for the next week, but after passing Pitcairn Island the Willaston encountered stormy weather, which prevailed on and off for the remainder of her voyage to Auckland. The vessel pitched, rolled and strained throughout in the face of severe westerly gales and high head seas. She weathered the storm, however, and no serious damage was done on board. Her average speed was 9.4 knots. The Willaston was at Auckland last on February 5, 1927, when she arrived with a cargo of case oil from San Francisco. The vessel was then in the phosphates trade between Nauru Island and Australian and Xew Zealand ports for some months. The Willaston is a war built vessel, being constructed by W. Dobson and Company, Newcastle, and launched in October, 1914. Captain W. H. Jones Is in command of the Willaston, and associated with him are the following officers: Chief, Mr. W. H. Fellowes; second, Mr. A. Longmuir; third, Mr. E. Wissett; chief engineer, Mr. R. J. Richards; second, Mr. A. H. Freer: third, Mr. T. Hayes; fourth. Mr. X. Dingle; wireless operator, Mr. S Harris; chief steward, Mr. A. Lewis. The local agents, the Xew Zealand Shipping Company, advise that the Willaston is to be dispatched from Auckland on Wednesday afternoon for Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin and Wanganui. She then bunkers at Westport, and completes the discharge of her cargo at Port Lincoln before proceeding to Port Pirie to load for Home.
MATAKANA DELAYED.—T Savill and Albion Company advises that the Matakana has been delayed by bad weather at Waikokopu. She was expected to leave there on Saturday for Napier and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington next Thursday, and will sail finally from there next Saturday for London. Avonmouth. Glasgow. Liverpool, via Montevideo and Teneriffe. PORT DENISON CALLS AT NEW PLYMOUTH. —The V tioneering Company has been advised tn' the C. and D. Line's steamer Port Denison will now call at Xew Plymouth, en route from Australia to Auckland. She is due at the Taranaki port on July 1 and at Auckland on July 5. After lifting the local cargo here, the Port Denison proceeds to Tokomaru Bay. thence Gisborne. Waikokopu. Xapier. Timaru. Wellington and Lvttelton to complete her loading, and sails finally from the latter port on July 21 for London via Las Palmas. HAURAKI DUE TO-NIGHT.—A further radio message received by the local office of the Union Company states that the motor-ship Hauraki is now expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at S o'clock this evening from the Pacific Coast. To-morrow morning she is to berth at the Prince’s Wharf. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel on Wednesday for Wellington, thence Melbourne. Adelaide, and Sydney to complete her discharge. MARAMA DUE NOON TO-MORROW'. —A radio message received by the local office of the Union Company states that the Marama ?s expected to arrive in tiu stream at Auckland at noon to-morrow from Sydney. After pratique has been granted" the vessel will berth at the Prince’s Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. She leaves Auckland at 3 p.m. next Friday on her return trip to Sydney.
