FRENCH AMBASSADRESS OF FASHION ARRIVES
MLLE. MARCELINE D’ALROY “Paris still leads the world in fashion. Her supremacy is never questioned.” Mile. Marceline D’Alroy, writer, lecturer and fashion expert should know if anyone does. Fabrics and fashions are Mile’s chief interest in life. Paul Poiret himself acclaimed her as a true disciple of the goddess, when she was
in Paris earlier in the year. Mile. D’Alroy arrived in Auckland to-day on her way to Sydney in the course of her sixth tour of the world. The charming French ambassadress of fashion will return across the Pacific next month, travelling via Tahiti. Her recently-concluded tour of the United States in the interests of French industries necessitated addresses in 25 of the largest American cities.
“You have just given me enough to make me want more,” declared Mile, as she glimpsed Auckland to-day, between showers, from the deck of the Niagara. “I would like to spend some time in your charming country, but, no, not at the moment.”
