RECORDS ESTABLISHED Payment at the rate of Is 5d a lb for superfine butterfat for buttermaking, and Is 7d a lb for butterfat for cheese is to be made by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., for the May output. The usual premiums will be paid on casein and dried milk. Northern Wairoa Company A record year has been experienced by the Northern Wairoa Dairy Company with an output of 1,943 tons. The total pay-out for the 1927-28 season was £228,262 ss, against £196,918 15s for 1926-27, an increase of £31,343 10s for the season. This amount does not include the bonus, which has not been made up. It is expected the grand total will be in the vicinity of £ 300,000, a record in the history of the company. The pay-out for May, the last month of the season, was £9,156 10s, at the rate of Is 3d a lb butterfat, against £7,573 15s, at Is a lb for May, 1927. Bay of Plenty Season Butterfat received by the Bay of Plenty Co-operative Dairy Association for the month of May totalled 128,0631 b, the pay-out to suppliers at the rate of Is 45c’. a lb superfine amounting to £8,590. For the corresponding period last year the quantity of butterfat received was 107,2391 b, for which Is 2d a lb for first grade was paid, the payout amounting to £6,225. The butter manufactured this season up to May 1 totalled 1,279 tons Bcwt, against 1,187 tons 15cwt for the corresponding period last year, an increase of 91 tons 13cwt. Te Awamutu Dairy Company Suppliers to Te Awamutu Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., will receive an advance payment of Is 5d on the 20th inst. for finest quality cream supplied during May, the total amount of the payment being £3,190. For the financial year, which ended on May 31, the company manufactured 496 tons of butter —an increase of 12 per cent, on the previous year. The average advance payment for the season is 15.54 d in cash, the payment to shareholders being 16.34 d. A final payment has still to be paid on last season’s supply, including a dividend of 6 per cent, on paid-up capital. The company commenced 25 years ago with 40 suppliers, and closed the season with 145. Cream amounting to 2,348,7911 b was received during the year, the average cream test being 39.06, and the over-run 21.00 per cent. During the season the company reduced its liability on buildings and plant by £1,610, and paid £60,576 to suppliers. Messrs. C. S. Mexted and A. H. Trubshaw are the retiring directors. A considerable increase in the output is anticipated next season, definite arrangements having already been made for new supply from approximately 800 cows.
