Taranaki Oils Advance
UNION BANKS FIRMER
INCREASED interest in Oils and a continued strong tone in banks were the week’s opening features on ’Change this morning.
In banks, Unions of Australia advanced to see business at £ls. Other scrip in this section maintains late rates, with more buyers than sellers. Insurances are quiet, with little movement in the market. Auckland Gas scrip continues quietly active, with steady business recorded on a firm market. A healthy tone is registered in the market for all the better classes of industrials. Buyers of Wilsons Cements fell back 6d to 35s 3d from this morning’s early call. Taranaki Oils provide the greatest
movement of interest to the section, firming to see sales at 11s 6d. Considerable activity in this scrip across the Tasman is reported, with a market slightly in advance of that in New Zealand. Business at this morning's early call.—Reported: Taupiri Coal (ord.), 26s 6d- On ’Change: Auckland Gas (paid). 23s 4d. Business at mid-day.—On ’Change: Auckland Gas (paid), 23s 4d; Taranaki Oils, 11s 6d; Union Bank of Australia, £ls.
