MAORI WHO LIKED LIQUOR IN BULK
ROLLED KEG INTO STREET Judged from his actions on Saturday, Turoa Simon, a Maori, aged 33, likes His liquor in bulk. He pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a charge of stealing a fivegallon keg of beer at Devonport on Saturday. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said accused had been drinking in a Devonport hotel, and at six o’clock, he rolled the keg out to the street, putting on a bus. It was found later at accused’s home. “He was intoxicated at the time,” said Mr. McCarthy, “but the keg was not broached.” Simon was fined £2.
