WINTER ATHLETICS
MEETING AT HENDERSON Although adverse weather conditions prevailed during a winter sports meeting arranged by the Henderson Oddfellows’ Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club on Saturday afternoon, some fine racing was witnessed. The steeplechase was won comfortably by J. Crum, who has raced consistently during the season’s crosscountry events. The results were as follow: 75yds Handicap.—First heat: E. Horan, 14yds, 1; D. Sinkovich, 2; E. I*. Henshall, 12yds, 3. Won by a yard, with a foot between second and third. Time, 8 3-ss. Second heat: J. Tipping, 12yds, 1; A. Clarke, 15yds, 2; A. E. Butler. 2£vd?, o. Won by inches, with one foot between second and third. Time. 8 2-ss. Final.—E. Horan, 1; D. Sinkovich. 2; E. P. Henshall, 3. Won by a foot, inches separating second and third. Time. 7 4-ss. Three Miles Steeplechase.—J. Crum, 40s. 1; D. _ Sinkovich, 110 s, 2; E. P. Henshall, «os, 3. Crum was prominent early and won easily by over 200 vards. Time. 21m 9s. Putting the Shot.—.J.
