EVERYBODY’S
“PALS IN PARADISE” From every standpoint one of the best and most enjoyable Western pictures shown this year is ‘‘Pals in Paradise,” which is now being shown at Everybody’s Theatre. The leading roles are in the capable hands of John Bowers, Marguerite De La Motte, Rudolph Schildkraut and May Robson, the latter making her screen debut in this vehicle. The story deals in a novel manner with a gold rush in California, and every scene has a thrill and laugh all its own. Miss De La Motte and Mr. Bowers are, as usual, clever in their respective portrayals, but too much praise cannot be awarded Mr. Schildkraut for his exquisite conception of the role of Lezinsky, a Jewish storekeeper and constable, and to Miss Robson for her naturalness as Mrs. Lezinsky. The second feature is “Rash Privates,” a particularly enjoyable war comedy starring Lya de Putti and Malcolm McGregor.
