MEAT EXPORT FIGURES

Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. The official returns of the Meat Producers’ Board for the eight months of the current season to May 31 show increases in export shipments of practically all classes of frozen meat compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. The total killings of stock for export from October 1 to May 31, 1928, were as follows. Figures for the corresponding period last year are shown in parentheses:— Beef, quarters, 308,882 (128,997). Weather mutton carcases, 1,058,692 (1,278,150); ewe mutton carcases, i 41,198 (777,764)-; lamb carcases, 5,464,138 (5,104,916); porkers carcases, 117,461 (49,095) ; fcaconers, 28,466 (35,426); boneless beef, freight carcases, 231,994 (184,763); sundries freight carcases, 55,278 (51,142).
