Strong Demand for Banks
Fertilisers Improve
A PARTICULARLY heavy volume of business was registered on ’Change yesterday afternoon. One of the features of business has been the recovery of interest in fertilisers.
A decided upward movement has set in in the market for several hank shares. New South Wales have improved to see sales in Auckland yesterday afternoon at £49 ss. More were sought this morning at £49, with sellers withdrawn at £49 15s. Unions of Australia have a firmer tone, sales being recorded at £l4 19s 6d. Bank of New Zealands, ex div., are firm with sellers at 59s 6d, supported by buyers at ss.
Fertilisers provide the greatest interest to the miscellaneous section. New Zealand Farmers’ Fertilisers were dealt with yesterday afternoon at 88s. Sellers of Kempthorne Prosser’s New Zealand Drug Company came in this morning at 665. Wilsons Cements
have improved to see business at 365, with more wanted at that figure. In shipping, Huddart Parkers have improyed slightly and the scrip was dealt with yesterday afternoon at 48s.
