TRANSPORT COMMISSION

SITTING FORMALLY CLOSED REPORT UNDER WAY The sittings of the Transport Commission were formally closed yesterday. A sitting was held to hear any further evidence, but none was offered. Good progress is being made with the compilation of the commission’s report, which is to be returned to the Governor-General by June 25. The commissioners are working long hours at’ their office at the Town Hall. The chairman has tentatively arranged to leave Auckland on Sunday evening. The two Australian commissioners, Air. W. G. T. Goodman and Mr. A. Edward, have pencilled steamer berths for next week.
