CAPITOL AND EDENDALE
“MISS NEW ZEALAND” Miss Bale Austen (Miss New Zealand) will make a personal appearance at the Capitol and Edendale Theatres this evening, when she will give a short lecturette on her recent visit to Hollywood. The film, “Miss New Zealand in Movieland,” will also be shown, making up quite an interesting entertainment. “The Trick of Hearts,” starring Hoot Gibson, will also be shown. In this picture Hoot Gibson introduces a new type of Western story, a story of a small Western town where the women Suffragettes secure the public offices such as Mayor and sheriff. How the cowboys get their own back is the enjoyable finish to the picture. The second pictorial feature is “Jesse James,” starring Fred Thompson, in a story of a modern Robin Hood in the days immediately following the American Civil War. “Jesse James” is not a Western, as the name is ordinarily used. It is the authentic record of one of the most amazing characters in American history. It has dash, marvellous horsemanship. and some hair-raising stunts, but it also has a dramatic story beautifully told.
