A HEALTHY TONE was recorded on ’Change this morning
fa although the volume of business put through at mid day was practically negligible.
Banks continue firm with steady buyers at late rates. New Zealands registered a slightly easier tone at this morning’s early ♦ all, out firmed up again at mid-day. X.S.W.s are firm, with sellers at £49 at the early call supported by buyers at £4B 15s. Buyers eased 2s 6d at mid-day. In the loan and agency section, Guarantee Corps, are receiving more attention, and sales were made at the early call at 8s 9d. Sellers of Kauri Timbers withdrew at mid-day. In the miscellaneous section buyers of Farmers’ Fertilisers (cum div.) improved to 82s 6d. Buyers of both issues of Electrolytic Zinc improved 3d
this morning. Wilsons Cements weakened to see business at 35s 9d yesterday afternoon. Gear Meats are receiving more attention. In mining, Waihis are quietly active around 11s 6d.
