1,100 BORN IN WELLINGTON IN MAY Press Association. WELLINGTON, Thursday. The total live births registered in the urban areas for May amounted to 1,099, as against 1,029 in April, an increase of 70. The deaths in May were 495, an increase of 33 compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths, males contributed 268 and females 227, while 46 of the deaths were of children under five years of age. Thirty-one of these were under one year of age.
