RECKLESS DRIVER FINED

KNOCKED ANOTHER CAR INTO HEDGE (Special to THE SUN) WANGANUI, Wednesday. In the Police Court to-day Edward White was charged with driving a motor in a manner dangerous to the public on the Great North Road and with failing to stop when requested Thomas Alexander, a farmer, of Maxwell, said he was coming to Wanganui on May 17 when on Westmere Rise, the defendant went to pass him and came in too fast in front of witness, hit his car, threw witness off the road and did not stop. Witness was travelling at 30 miles an hour, but defendant passed him like a flash.

Frederick Handley said he noticed Alexander's car spin right round and finish up in the fence. On the first charge defendant was fined £lO with costs. 25s and witnesses’ expenses, £3. For failing to stop he was fined £1 with costs, 10s.
