Mrs. W. Berry is a visitor to Auckland from "Wellington. Mrs. A. P. Speedy, of Claudelands, is at present in Auckland. Mrs. C. T. Rickett, of Te Awamutu, is at present in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. C. Cullen, of Matamata, are at the Albert Hotel. * * * Mr. and Mrs. E. Travers, of Wellington, are visiting Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Bailey, of Christchurch, are paying a visit to Auckland. Mrs. A. H. Storey has returned to Te Awamutu from a holiday in Auckland. Mrs. J. S. Barton left town last evening for the South, after a long visit to Auckland. Mrs. Couper and Miss J. Couper have returned to Cambridge after a visit to Auckland. Mrs. H. J. Russell and Mrs. H. V. Kerr, of Napier, arrived in Auckland this morning. The Misses Barker have returned to Gisborne from an extended visit to Wellington, Rotorua and Auckland. * * * Miss Betty McClellan, of Auckland, is visiting Wellington prior to leaving for England, where she will join her sisters. Guests at the Grand Hotel include Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Mills, of London, and Mr. and Mrs. K. McWhae, of Melbourne. Miss Ruth Dodd, of Palmerston North, and Miss Mona Waite, of Paekakariki, have returned from a visit to Auckland. At the Star Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. H. Jeavons, of Dunedin; Mrs. Holdsworth, of Wellington, and Mrs. R. Taylor, of Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Bramwell, of Dargaville, Captain and Mrs. J. Rankine, and Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Jenkinson, of Wellington, are staying at the Star Hotel. * * * Miss Neill, of Dunedin, who has been spending some days with Mrs. F. Fitchett, St. Stephen’s Avenue, Parnell, is now visiting her brother at Tirau. Miss Vera Spaull, Uf the “Madame Pompadour” company, who has been the guest of Miss Anita Webster, Herne Bay. left for Hamilton with the company yesterday morning. Mrs. Sidney Taylor, of Christchurch, and Mrs. S. Holdsworth, of Wellington, arrived in Auckland this morning, and are staying at the Star Hotel. They will sail by the Tofua for the Islands.
Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Manning, of Wark worth, left Auckland by the Limited express last evening to join the S.S. Tees for the Chatham Islands. where Mr. Manning has been appointed headmaster of the Te One school.
