Baths Poll to Have Separate Issues

RAISING OF LOANS STATEMENT BY MAYOR According to a statement made by the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, to THE SUN this morning, the baths loans will be put to the ratepayers as separate issues. This means that the ratepayers will have the opportunity of voting on the proposal to borrow some £22,000 for Point Chevalier Baths as one issue. They will also vote on the proposal to borrow £7,500 for cleaning and sterilisation plants at Parnell, Shelly Beach and Hobson Street baths. The sum of £7,500 will provide the plant necessary for the three baths, and will be put as one issue. The carrying of this loan will enable the baths to be in operation for next bathing season.

A third issue at the same time will concern the sum necessary to equip a central garage and repair station for the council’s cars.
