ENGINEER’S SCHOLARSHIP
MR. H, A. DICKSON TO TRAVEL Mr. H. A. Dickson, 8.E., who is at present on the staff of the Auckland city engineer, has been awarded a New Zealand University post-gradu-ate travelling scholarship in engineering valued at £l5O. The terms of the scholarship, which is awarded on the work done throughout the degree course, require the holder to study engineering practice abroad and to leave the Dominion for that purpose within six months. Mr. Dickson was a pupil of the technical college in New Plymouth, when he won an engineering bursary tenable at Canterbury College. He took the civil engineering course and at the end of 1926 passed his final examination for the bachelor’s degree. Shortly afterwards he joined the engineering staff of the Auckland City Council and on completing the required practical work was awarded the degree last February. He expects to remain abroad for 12 months.
