LETTER TO ANOTHER MAN SHIP’S STEWARD CHARGED Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. At Lyttelton this morning Norman Ernest Stanley, aged 33, a steward on the Ruahine, appeared charged with sending a threatening letter to James Petrie Innes, cf Palmerston North, knowing the letter to contain a threat to kill accused’s wife, Ivy May Stanley. He was further charged that at Foxton he threatened to do grevious bodily harm to Ivy May Stanley.

On the application of the police the case was adjourned until Friday when accused will appear before a magistrate at Palmerston North.
