SCOTTISH ATTITUDE
RUGBY IN DOMINIONS (Australian Press Association.) Reed. 11.40 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. The Scottish Rugby Union has circularised its clubs concerning its attitude toward Dominion football. It states: “Your committee disapproves of the financial arrangements between the New South Wales fifteen and France. It also considers that the terms of the New Zealanders* visit in 1924 were contrary to previous agreements. “The committee views favourably the organisation of Rugby in the Dominions, but it cannot be a party to any agreement whereby any Dominion has anything to say about the organisation of the game in the Mother Country.” The principal desire of the Dominion’s representatives was to render the game faster, in order to secure
increased reecipts The committee considered the game was fast enough and interesting enough. It should not be forgotten that Rugby originated in the schools. The committee would never permit it to become so tiring, that schoolboys could not play it without undue fatigue.
