GRAND
“THE MERRY WIDOW” “Baby Mine,” the most delightful comedy made by Karl Dane and George K. Arthur, is now being shown at the Grand Theatre. The story opens in the college—Dane is catapulted into a romance with Charlotte to give Arthur and Louise Lorraine a chance to marry—and then there’s a quarrel betwten husband and wife that the conspirators try to patch up by persuading Dane that he’s become a father. The costumes of the ‘‘college boys” are absurd, as is the hilarious plot—in fact, there’s not a serious moment in the entire conglomeration—and Dane and Arthur are excruciating m their adventures. “Baby Mine” will be one of the screen’s chamnion laughmakers for many a long day.
“The Merry Widow,” the story of the popular musical comedy, is also being shown, with John Gilbert and Mae Murray in the leading role.
“Miss New Zealand in Movieland' is also being shown.
