Co-operation Needed
HOW LISTENERS CAN HELP LISTENERS with both broadcast and short-wave receivers can materially assist in making this section of The Sun interesting to themselves and to those who have not yet entered the fascinating field of radio, by keeping me advised of what they are doing.
What are you getting with your | radio set? Of course, you are receivI ing most of the big New Zealand and ■ Australian stations, but are you get- ! ting any distant stations, or, what you I consider phenomenal results? ! If you are, let me know, and give a ! description of your set, your aerial and your earth. Others are interested and reports of unusual reception will be welcomed. Perhaps you are a shortwave fan, and are receiving a number of stations which others are not.
It would be interesting to know which Auckland short-wave receiver has picked up the most stations, and what they are, so that others may be encouraged to listen for them. Send a list of the stations you have heard, whether on the regular or short-wave bands. It is hoped to make a feature each week of what amateurs are doing, and if they will co-operate it should become not only interesting, but extremely useful to those who perhaps have no idea of what a set is capable of getting.
