BANK AND INSURANCE FIRM
THOUGH little business has been recorded this morning bank and insurance securities remain steady.
Bank scrip maintains high figures, English, Scottish and Australian are attracting considerable attention and have a firming tendency. New South Wales are firm at current prices, "Union Bank of Australia have maintained their recent rise and now stand with buyers £l4 17s 6d, sellers £ls. Insurance stocks are also in keen demand at recent prices. Mining is weal.. Waihi has steady ! buyers at 11s 4d, sellers 11s Bd. Mount'
Lyell sold this mornin gat 33s 9d, leaving the market unchanged. All Government and local body debentures are in good tone.
