KILLS MORE THAN TIGER CALCUTTA, June 3. Last year 1,691 persons were killed in the Central Provinces and Berar by animals and reptiles. Snakes were responsible for 1,389 deaths, and tigers and leopards for 221. On the other hand, 1,261 tigers and leopards and 915 snakes were destroyed during the year, and the Government distributed over 21,000 rupees (nearly £1,500) in rewards.
