AUCKLAND’S OPERATIONS It was reported at a meeting of the Auckland Power Board presided over by Mr. W. J. Holdsworth yesterday, that, during the past two weeks, one underground and 176 overhead services had been connected; service gangs had erected 41 poles and 21,200 vards of cable. On the Penrose-Otahuhu cable, a further 250 yards has been laid. Three hightension joints were completed on the cable to the railway workshops arc triftircating boxes finished at the -üb-station end. In reinforcing Archhill area, 3,700 yards of cable have been erected, and services balanced up on new lines. All poles and 5,200 yards of cable had been erected in extending the Rosebank line. Between the railway and the racecourse at Ellerslie 12 poles and 7,000 vards of cable had been erected. In Clevedon, 5,000 yards of cable had been put up in East Road and the transformers livened. Short extensions had been completed In May Road, and Hill Road, Hillsborough, and in Riverside Road. Parimure, a start had been made to erect the automatic oil switches on the 11,000-volt lines, and one of these had been put Into service in East Tamaki, and one in the Clevedon area. One new street lamp had been erected In Alison Avenue. One Tree Hill.
