NEW TIME-TABLE

EAST COAST RAILWAY ALTERATIONS ON MONDAY From Monday the Thames express, which leaves Auckland every morning at 9.30 o’clock, will be removed from the time-table and an Auckland-Taneatua express, leaving Auckand at 8.35 o’clock each morning, will take its place. This is one of several alterations which will come into operation on Monday, when the Railway Department officially tabes over the Tahawai-Tau-runga section of the East Coast Railway. Although the whole length of the section to Taneatua will not be taken over for some weeks, the new timetable will remain in operation. The express which will leave Auckland at 8.35 am. will arrive at Tauranga at 5.18 p.m. and Taneatua at 8.35 p.m. This train will arrive at Paeroa at 1.56 p.m. each day. and will connect with Thames, which will be reached by another train from Paeroa arriving at Thames at 3.28 p.m. Two trains will leave Taneatua each day for the North. The express will leave at 7.40 o’clock in the morning, reaching Auckland at 4.53 p.m. _ Trains from Thames will connect with this express. The second train will leave Taneatua each day at 11 a.m. ; reaching Frankton Junction in time for passengers to connect with the Frankton Junction-Aucklang train which arrives at Auckland at 11.2 o'clock each night.

A new train is to bo put on the Mercer-Frankton Junction run. It will leave Mercer at 8.55 each morning. and will arrive at Frankton Junction at 8.55 a.m., in time for travellers to catch the Tauranga train. The 8.40 a.m. train from Waiuku to Paerata which runs on Tuesdays. Thursdays and Saturdays, will run 10 minutes earlier after Monday, to connect with the Tauranga train.

Slight alterations will be made on several of the smaller lines to meet the requirements of passengers to and from the Bay of Plenty.
