OPENED BY GOVERNORGENERAL BUTTER AND CHEESE AWARDS Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, To-day. The Taranaki Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Winter Show was opened to-day by the GovernorGeneral, Sir Charles Fergusson. The butter and 'cheese exhibits were judged yesterday. The points prize in butter was won by Levin, with Mangorei second, Karamea third. Masterton fourth and United fifth. The champion cup was won by Levin with 95i points, Karamea being second and North Taranaki third. Rangitikei Plains won the first assistants’ class, and the novice class was won by Konini.
The cheese points prize was . won by Hopelands with 377 points, with Ngaere second and Lowgarth third. The open class was won by Ngaere, the Taranaki championship by Lowgarth and Ngaere won a special trophy. The Shaw, Savill champion cup was won by Hopelands, Ngaere being second and Bell Block third. The Nathan Cup, for butter, was won by the United Factory, with 94 points: Shannon being second with 931, and Levin third with 93.
