“SUBSTANTIAL SUCCESS”
ADVERTISING EXHIBITION TRIBUTES TO PRESIDENT “The exhibition was a substantial success financially and we are ail agreed that from other points of view it was a very creditable effort,” said Mr. A. H. Lees, who presided over the luncheon at the Auckland Advertising Club to-day. Mr. Lees said that all members would be pleased to know that the president, Mr, L. Alfred Eady was recovering after an operation. It had been decided to hold the annual meeting and a smoke concert on July 10 at Alfred Eady’s hall. Falling into line with other organisations, the club would hold a church parade on Sunday, June 24, and attend a sermon preached by the Rev. Grant Cowen.
Tho secretary, the Rev. A. M. Niblock, said that the average attendance every day of the exhibition was about 2,000. No fewer than 6,241 people had paid one shilling to enter and 946 had paid sixpence. Mr. Niblock paid a tribute to the work of the president, and to his vision and energy.
