Fertilisers Weaker

ACTIVITY IN PICTURES PICTURES provided one of the features of business on ’Change this morning. The market opened for the week with most sections in good tone.

Both Hayward’s and Fullers’ Pictures improved to see business at 21s. Sellers of Haywards then withdrew. Sellers’ closing quotations for Fullers at mid-day at 21s 6d were supported by buyers at 20s 9d. In timbers. Leyland O’Brien were dealt with at 345; more were wanted at 32s 6d. A little-quoted scrip on the Auckland 'Change in Wright, Stephenson, was quoted this morning with sellers at 22s 6d, supported by buyers at 20s. Hikurangi Coals continue to be sought on a firm market.

Banks maintain late rates. N.Z.’s are firm, with sellers at 61s, supported at 60s 6d. Sellers of Farmers’ Fertilisers weakened to 88s, w'ith buyers still in at 80s. Sellers of Kempthorne Prosser’s N.Z. Drug Co. at 69s 6d were not supported. Business at this morning’s call.—On ’Change; Onion Bank of Australia, £l4 18s 6d.
