GREEN MILL, MILFORD

“PATENT LEATHER KID” Richard Barth elm ess’s great picture of the Tank Corps in action, “The Patent Leather Kid,” will be shown tonight at the Green Mill Theatre, Milford. “The Patent Leather Kid” is an East Side boxer, so called because of his sleek, black hair, which he hates to have mussed up in the ring. He is very unpopular, and hooted and jeered every time he fights. He is attracted to The Golden Dancer, a cabaret girl, and takes her from her wealthy sweetheart, Breen. War is declared and the Kid resents the w r hole affair, as it interferes with his profession. His ire against his country is deepenced when the dancer says she is going to France to dance for the soldiers. The girl goes and the Kid is drafted. So is Puffy, his trainer, whom he calls his pal. They enter the tank corps, and serve under Captain Breen, who lost his girl to the Kid. Sydney folk are all vying with each other as to who will have the most spectacular set and gorgeous costumes at the movie men’s frolic, “The Movie Ball.” This great event in the social and dancing season of Sydney is to take place on June 26 at the Palais Royal.
