McEwan, of Wellington, arc at the Grand Hotel. * * * Among those at the Central Hotel are Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Marfitt, of Martinborough, and Mr. and Mrs. M. Dicken, of Rotorua.^ Lady Hall-Jones has returned to Wellington from a visit to Rotorua and Auckland. Miss Hall-Jones is the guest of Mrs. St. John Clarke, Domett Avenue, Epsom. * • * Miss Mana C. Tompkins, Hamilton, who arrived in England on March 18, left for the Continent shortly afterwards. After a week in Paris she spent a fortnight touring in Switzerland and then visited the Loire Valley. She will return to England early this month. * * * What is a feminist, anyhow? Miss Clemence Dane thinks it is a term of abuse. This was a question by Miss Clemence Dane, the well-known dramatist, when taking the chair at a debate on “Feminism” at the American Women’s Club, in London, recently. “Feminist,” she said, “seems to be a term of abuse for women who are interested in anything outside their own particular job.”
