SUN AND VIEW
FINE SITE FOR NEW T.B. SHELTERS FINISHED IN NINE WEEKS Situated on the brow of the hill at the rear of the public hospital, the new T.B. shelters in course of erection will command one of the finest views in Auckland. Facing north and overlooking city and harbour, the buildings will be in a position to receive the full benefit of the sun all day. All haste is being made by the contractors, who expect to finish their work within nine weeks. In the centre of the block will be the administrative building, comprising kitchen and dining room, recreation room and staff bedrooms. Two shelters, each containing four beds, will be built on each side of the centra! building and will be connected with it by covered ways. Some of the material from the old T.B. shelters in the Domain, particularly weather boards, are being used in the construction of the new buildings, which are designed to accommodate 16 men. On the site of the original T.B. wards and hospital annexe, 17 men working under the City Council’s scheme of unemployment relief, are engaged in levelling the ground for the putting down of 10 public; tennis courts.
