NATIONAL of New Zealand banks, improved to see business at £7 bs tid, and Hikurangi Coals (ord.), active at os, were the principal items of interest on ’Change this morning.
Iri banks, New Zealands. following t the publication of that concern’s balance sheet, firmed up this morning to see business at 60s 6d, the mid-day call closing with more wanted at that figure and sellers withdrawn to 60s 9d. Commercials meet with a strong demand on a firm market. Hikurangis contribute practically the only activity to coals, the ordinaries seeing frequent business at as. The mid-day call closed with sellers at 5s 6d supported by buyers at 4s lOd. In timbers, buyers of Kauris advanced 6d to 18s 6d. New Zealand breweries are slightly firmer and buyers were offering 41s This morning with sellers holding for 435. . , Wilsons Cements were dealt with at rJSs, 3d below the figure of the last Auckland sale, one recorded on Wednesday.
In mining, Waihis are, if anything, a shade easier than yesterday afternoon’s closing market, sellers at 11s lOd being supported by buyers at 11s 3d.
