CREAMED STEAK | yr~iOUND steak, about two j, inches thick. To each pound § of meat use half cup flour. H Pound the flour into the meat, 2 turning and dredging and pound- 2 ing on both sides; add salt and H pepper to taste during this pro- H cess. To each pound of meat use H three tablespoons lard or butter, H and when very hot in a frying-pan 2 put in the steak and brown it on H both sides; then fill pan three- p Quarters full of boiling water and set it at the back of the stove and H simmer one hour.
