FAREWELL PARTY

Mrs. X. P. Ingram, of ‘‘Ormonde.” Edendale, entertained a few friends at a very delightful little party last evening-, the guest of honour being Mrs. Jean White, who leaves on Friday next for Sydney. A very cheery, effect was obtained in the driving room by the use of great clusters of deep bronze chrysanthemums and red autumn foliage, while the supper tables in the dining room were artistically arranged with bowls of red berries and f) ns, and shaded lights. Musical and elocutionary items were rendered, and many novel games and competitions had been arranged. Mrs. Ingram chose a graceful gown of black ring velvet, with the fashionable uneven hem, and raised motifs of Oriental design. Mrs. White’s frock was of poinsettia georgette, heavily encrusted with sequins. Among those present were: Mrs. A. T. Scott, mexique blue frock lac Crepe cle chine > relieved with ecru Mrs. E. A. Clements, slightly bouffant frock of wistaria mauve taffeta, with large posies of pastel pink. , 5J rs T S' R - Page, period frock of thistletlVA taffeta, and ivory georgette, edged with fine lace. Miss Frances Batchelar, dainty frock of panne velvet in shades of wild rose and sliver, with designs in diamante. Miss Bernice Seccombe. sunset crepe alonza frock, inset with panels of Paristinted lace, and ceinture of amber velvet. Miss Olga, Clarke, frock of black crepe faconne, with tulle skirt and diamante. Miss Nance Dunne, eau de nil frock of satin de soie, with posies of palest pink and silver.
