WORLD’S FINEST AIR STATION
except for seeing who won, we do not know which of our team are making good, or what the South Africans think of them,” said Mr. Torrance. “We have had practically nothing in the way of comment, except that the All Blacks were beaten for the ball in the scrums.” “I can only express the hope that the grossly inadequate reports we have so far received will be improved, as soon as Word can he sent from the authorities! responsible for the quantity and quality of the messages.”
monopolise newspaper space, said Mr. Frost, but at the same time think that such an important tour as this should receive more consideration. So far we have received no comment except the fact that the All Blacks were beaten for the ball in the scrums. Mr. Frost also pointed out that in connection with the present match the personnel of the Griqualand team had not been supplied, and very little firsthand information as to the relative strength of the teams had been made available. AFRICAN COMMENT WANTED In an interview with a Sun representative Mr. Frost also expressed the opinion, that comment of the play by the South African newspapers would
also be very welcome in New Zealand, giving as it would, representative South African opinion on the New Zealand style of play and the individual players. In reference to the remarks made on the subject by Mr. S. S. Dean, chairman of the N.Z. Rugby Union, Mr. Frost said he was chairman of the New Zealand Union at the time the complaint was made regarding a similar paucity of cable news regarding the 1924 English tour. At that time it was thought that the reports were insufficient and that more comment was needed. This was subsequently rectified and he had no doubt that the Press Association would also see that more adequate reports of the present tour would be sent out.
