LACK OF CLASSROOMS
MINISTER’S ADDRESS EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION ALARMED Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Upon reading the report of the address of the Minister of Education to the Education Council, the executive of the Educational Association has forwarded a resolution to the council that “This executive has read with great concern the Minister’s remarks to the effect that classes in large schools cannot be reduced until such time as extra accommodation is available. The executive would urge on the Minister and the council that in the work of education the teacher is more important than the classroom, and the Minister and council may feel well assured that if additional teachers are provided, arrangements will be made for utilising their services to the best advantage possible. “To deprive pupils of teachers because of lack of rooms is to inflict a double loss.”
