“THE SPOTLIGHT”

“The Spotlight,” starring Esther Ralston will be shown to-night at the Rialto and Regent (Epsom), Theatres. Miss Ralston plays the part of Lizzie Stokes, a drab and colourless actress in a second-rate company. After continued drudgery, she appears in the outer office of Hoffmana great theatrical producer. Her appearance is opportune as Maggie Connney, the star of Hoffman’s new production is at that instant throwing * temperamental fit. Hoffman disgusted!) tells her she’s fired—he’ll take the firs gicl he sees in his outer office and ma a star out of her. At first Lizzie seems hopeless, but Hoffm gets an inspiration.
