CONFERENCE TO-MORROW

DISCUSSION IN PRIVATE Transport problems were discussed in private conference last evening by representatives of the opposing sides appearing at the Transport Commission. For the City Council, the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, and Councillors J. A. C. Allum and A. J. Entrican, were delegates. Mr. E. H. Potter, Mayor of Mount Eden, Mr. R. G. Clarke, chairman of the One Tree Hill Road Board, and Mr. F. M. Waters, chairman of the Manukau County Council, represented the suburban bodies. Messrs. J. Stanton and V. R. Meredith, counsel for the city and suburbs respectively, were also present. After the meeting the Mayor said there was nothing to report to the public. To-morrow evening a meeting of representatives of the suburban local bodies will be held at the Mount Eden Borough Council Chambers, and the deliberations of last evening’s conference will be discussed.
