POSITION IN CANTERBURY Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. The break caused by the holiday has allowed little time since the week-end report for market developments. However. there is a disposition for the price of potatoes to become firmer. Prompt deliveries are quoted to-day at £4 17s 6d a ton, and June deliveries at £5 2s 6d, about 2s 6d more than at the week-end. DaKotas still carry a price superiority for the Wellington market and were sold to-day for Juno at £6. The Kaiwarra to-morrow is due to sail for Auckland with up to 5,000 sacks. The Northern city is well supplied at the moment. Onions have increased in value and as a ton on trucks has been paid. Lhe Australian market has jumped and there is little prospect of importation from there.
