BOOTS GAIN MORE POINTS THAN SPEED
SCORERS IN CLUB MATCHES Details of the scoring in the first half dozen club games of the season tend to show that a pair of good kicking boots is more valuable to a team than speed and determination. First on the scoring list is Stuart (Marist) who shares with Jenkin , of Varsity, the splendid performance of converting 10 tries in six games. Berridge , ivho is second on the list , scored all his points with his boot. R. Hook (Ponsonby) and Johnston (Marist) are the premier try-getters. So far this season 92 players have scored 685 points between them. Out of 139 tries 57 were converted and 35 penalties were kicked. Two goals were kicked from marks and there were four field goals put over. Following is the list of chief scorers to date: —
T : tries : P: penalties ; M : goals from marks ; C : conversions ; FG: field goa.ls.
