The New Zealanders led 29—26 after five ends, but the county led 60 —46 after 10 ends. Scores: Sole beat Dee, 15 —12; Parker beat Grant, 16 —-10; Thomson beat Carson, 21 —20; Henderson lost to Bland, 26—27; Hotchkiss lost to Hutchins, 17—19. Middlesex won another rink, 26 —21.
