THE SOUTH AFRICAN FLAG
Sir,— In yesterday’s Sun you published an interesting letter from “Vorant” regretting that the colours in the sketch - plan of South Africa’s flag were not represented correctly from an heraldic point of view. As your correspondent mentions that many readers may be keeping the sketch for future reference, I would like to point out that there is no yellow at all on South Africa’s flag, but orange. This error must have arisen in interpreting the original from which The Sun’s sketch was made. Orange is rather difficult to reproduce in colour, and apparently was taken for yellow. J.A.D.
