DINNER AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE NEW YEAR AWARDS The Hon. Sir Walter Stringer and Mr. A. F. Ellis attended the official dinner at Government House last evening to receive from the GovernorGeneral’s hands the honours conferred on them by his Majesty the King at New Year. His Excellency presented to Sir Walter Stringer, Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, the letters patent under the royal sign manual, conferring upon him the dignity of Knight Bachelor. Mr. Albert Fuller Ellis, New Zealand Commissioner on the British Phosphate Commission, received the Badge of Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. Georgy
