ACCIDENT AT SPORTS

CLAIM FOR £l3l DAMAGES Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. As a sequel to an accident willeli occurred at the Cheviot sports in 1926, a summons has been issued in a claim for damages amounting to £l3l Plaintiff is John Collins, farmer, and the defendants cited are E. Winskill, president of the Cheviot Amateur Sports Club; J. Y. Moir, steward of the club; and A. E. Joseph, a wellknown amateur athlete. Collins was a spectator at the Cheviot sports, at which Joseph competed in the hammer throw. He states that Moir superintended this event, and was responsible for the safe conduct of it.
