FIRE DESTROYS HOUSE
BLAZE AT AVONDALE A four-roomed house in Oakley Avenue, AVondale, was totally destroyed by fire at 3.30 this morning. Little was saved from the flames. The house was owned by Mr. Edgecumb6 and occupied by Mr. Croui. The occupants had barely time to seize a few clothes and escape before the flames took entire control. The Point Chevalier and Western District brigades turned out, but were unable to extinguish the blaze. The house was insured for £IOO in the Royal office, and a policy for £6O on the furniture is held by the United Company*
