PERSONAL. —Mr. Invei'arity has rejoined the Corinna as chief engineer. The Kaikoi'ai has recommissioned with the following engineers:—Chief, Mr. L. C. Davies; second, Mi'. J. J. HINEMOA SAILS FROM SUVA.—Cable ndviee received by Spedding, Ltd., states that the Government steamer Hinemoa sailed from Suva last Friday for Auckland, where she is due next Friday. VIA MONTEVIDEO. —The Shaw, Savill and Albion Co. draws attention to the fact that the Arawa, which is to leave Wellington on August 3 for Southampton and London, will proceed via the Cape Horn route, and is to call at Montevideo.

WAIKAWA AT APlA.—Cabled news has been received by the U nion Company that the Waikawa, flora pacific Coast ports, arrived at Apia on Thrasclay afternoon. She later .will proceed to Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and New Plymouth. She is due at Napier on June ‘ 11.

TOFUA LEAVES APIA. —Advice received by the local office of the Union Company states that the Tofua left Apia, Samoa, at 4 p.m. on Saturday for Suva and Auckland. She is due at the Fijian port on Wednesday and sails the following afternoon for Auckland, where she is due next Monday, June 11. TAINUI IN PORT.—Early yesterday morning the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Tainui arrived m the stream at Auckland from London and Southampton via Panama. Later she was berthed at the Prince’s Wharf to land 138 passengers, as well as a, large quantity of mail for New Zealand, and 4,500 tons of general merchandise for Auckland. The remainder of the cargo is for Wellington. The vessel cleared Southampton on April 27 and experienced unpleasant wintry weather until after the Azores were passed. Then there was fine weather, but remarkably cool conditions, through the Caribbean Sea, Colon was reached on May 13 and after bunkers were replenished the voyage was resumed. In the Pacific the fine weather continued until the vessel was two days from Auckland, when she encountered hard gales and rough seas,, the wind varying from north to south, via west. The boisterous conditions delayed her arrival by about 12 hours. In spite of the delay the vessel made a creditable trip of 20 days 11 hours from Panama to Auckland, the speed averaging 13.26 knots.

MINERIC LEAVES SOURABAYA. Cable advice from London dated June 2 states the Weir Line steamer Minenc has sailed from Sourabaya, Java, with a full cargo of raw sugar for Auckland. WAIKOUAITI LEAVES OPUA.-—The Union Company’s steamer W aikouaiti leit Opua at seven o’clock yesterday morning for Newcastle and Sydney. She is due at Newcastle next Saturday.

TAHITI AT WELLINGTON.—The Union Company’s R.M.S. Tahiti arrived at Wellington this morning from San Francisco via ports. She is to leave Wellington at noon on Wednesday for Sydney.

YOSERIC'S MOVEMENTS. The steamer Yoseric, after unloading all her phosphate cargo from Ocea* Island at King’s Wharf, is to sail T«ext Saturday for Westport to bunker before she proceeds to Makatea Island to load phosphate for Sweden. MOOR A BOOL SOLD.—A Press Association cable from Sydney states that Huddart-Parker, Ltd., have sold the steamer Moorabool, 3,021 tons, to Chinese buyers. She was built at Blyth in ISO 9 and for many years has been engaged in the company’s inter-State trade.

MAUNGANUI FROM SYDNEY.—Due at Auckland early to-morrow morning from Sydney, the Union Company’s passenger steamer Maunganui will later berth at the Queen’s Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. At 3 p.m. next Friday she leaves here on her return trip to the New South Wales port.

RANJA REPORTS.—According to a radio message received by Burns, Philp and Company, the Norwegian tanker Ranja, which is bringing oil for the Atlantic Oil Company, is expected to arrive in the stream at Auckla: l early this afternoon from San Pedro. The tanker has oil for discharge at Auckland, Wellington and Australia. She will berth at the Western Wharf.

CUMBERLAND DUE SHORTLY. No wireless advice has been received from the Federal Line steamer Cumberland, which is scheduled to reach Auckland from Liverpool to-morrow. She has general merchandise from West Coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. The New Zealand Shipping Company are the local agents.

VESSELS FROM LIVERPOOL.—The Federal Company advises that the Cambridge will now take the place of the Devon on the loading berth at West Coast ports of Great Britain, and is to sail finally from Liverpool on July 7 for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Devon, instead of the Westmoreland, will now leave Liverpool on August 4 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth. LINERS FROM HOME—The New Zealand Shipping Company announces that the Rotorua, after loading at London, will leave Southampton on June 8 for Wellington to disembark passengers, and will then proceed to put out her cargo at Lyttelton, Timaru and Port Chalmers. The Ruapehu, after loading at London, is to sail from Southampton on June -9 with passengers only for Wellington and general cargo to discharge at 1 ort Chalmers, Lyttelton and New Plymouth. She will be followed by the Remuera, leaving Southampton on July 6 tor Wellington and Auckland. AORANGI FROM SYDNEY.— Shortly after 6.30 o’clock this morning the Union Companv s R.M.M.S Aorangi arrived m the stream at Auckland from Sydney, and, after pratique was granted, berched at the Prince’s Wharf to land her passengers, mails and to load for Honolulu and America. The liner left the New South Wales port at 4 p.m. last Thursdays and experienced moderate weather for the run across the Tasman Sea.
