WAR MEMORIAL UNVEILED

Press Association ASHBURTON, To-day. The Ashburton war memorial was unveiled by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. J. Rolleston. oefore a largo assemblage this morning. The Horn \V\ Nos vorthy also delivered an address and messages of goodwill were received from consuls of the Allied cour. tries. The memorial is in the form of an obelisk and stands in Baring Square. It contains the names *of 423 soldiers • tlvo country who gave their lives in the Great War. (By special arrangement Reuter’s world service in addition to other special sources of information is used in the compilation of the overseas intelligence published in this issue, and ail rights therein in Australia and New Zealand are reserved.).
