“LOOKING FOR FRIEND”
FOUND NIGHT-WATCHMAN SEARCH ENDS IN COURT Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. In the Police Court to-day, John Clerkin, a labourer, aged 56, admitted being found on the premises of the Bristol Piano Company without lawful excuse, but in circumstances that did not disclose the commission of or intention to commit any other offence. He also pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness. Accused was found o:n the premises by the nightwatcliman, and had apparently entered by the back door, which was not locked. It was not considered that he was on the premises for any sinister object. The magistrate told the accused to be more careful when he came* to town. Clerkin apparently had some kind of a hazy idea that he had been looking for a friend.
